The Ashanti Fashion Industry Network (AFIN) successfully organized the Fashion Industry Stakeholders Conference 2025 on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Kumapley Auditorium, College of Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The conference brought together a wide range of stakeholders within the fashion ecosystem to deliberate on the growth, sustainability, and future of the industry in the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole.
Under the theme “Weaving Creativity and Commerce: Advancing Sustainable Fashion for Tourism and Trade Excellence in Ghana,” the conference attracted an impressive audience, including industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, academia, and students.
Dignitaries and Representation
The event was graced by notable personalities and institutional representatives. The Ashanti Regional Minister was ably represented by his Personal Assistant, while the Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA) and the Ashanti Regional Director for the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) were present. The Vocational and Technical Unit of the Ghana Prisons Service and the Centre for National Culture also participated, underscoring the collaborative and inclusive nature of the event.
Faculty members and students from the fashion and textiles departments of KNUST, Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), and AAMUSTED attended in large numbers. In addition, students and facilitators from various Technical and Vocational Training Institutions (TVETs) across the region participated actively in the discussions and exhibitions.

A special moment during the conference was the presentation of an honorary award to Madam Gladys Adu Gyamfi, CEO of Gladugem Enterprise, in recognition of her unwavering support for the fashion industry. In her remarks, Madam Gyamfi expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honor and pledged to continue supporting AFIN’s initiatives toward the development of the sector.
